Rebuilding Displaced Communities
Songs of Tomorrow is an international non-profit NGO. Our purpose is to equip and enrich displaced or otherwise deprived communities through creative tools of artistic expression, hands-on workshops, training, and live performances. We deploy highly qualified artists to teach, perform, and contribute essential gear and instruments tailored to each community’s needs.
We do not limit ourselves to specific art forms or locations. We respond to crisis globally, adapting the artistic approach to the local context. A neglected tent camp with many unattended children may benefit most from circus and magic shows that bring laughter and wonder, while a more established settlement with active schools may be ready for structured workshops and to receive donations of instruments and gear.
As artists ourselves, we focus on the domain of artistic expression and function within the humanitarian rebuilding efforts of displaced communities. While many NGOs prioritize infrastructure, housing, nutrition and schooling, we address a different but likewise vital need: the role of art in restoring dignity, identity, culture and hope to suffering communities. Artistic opportunities and possibilities give young people something to live for, ignite their imagination, and unite communities through music, dance, creativity, humor and cultural expression.
Through the arts, we inspire, teach, and give displaced communities a voice—empowering them to create and express their own songs; Their songs of tomorrow.
