The Bulletproof Balloons
is a performance duo consisting of Martin Nielsen - the president of Songs of Tomorrow, and Charles Curran, aka Chic - a magician from Scotland and member of Magic Medics. Together they specialize in children entertainment using magic, music and flow arts. Their unforgettable show and work with refugee children is unique in many ways.
Chic and Martin have worked together since 2018 where they met each other during the refugee crisis in Lesbos, Greece. Since then they have visited thousands upon thousands of children, and they have fine tuned their understanding and their show, to make the most significant and wondrous impact. Striving to reach children in the most deprived circumstances, The Bulletproof Balloons have been working in conflict zones and other hard to access locations, mainly in the Middle-East.
To work with and perform for children in war torn refugee camps, is not an easy task. The children are not used to anything like it, and it takes significant experience and dedication, to be able to cater to their needs and deliver a meaningful show, while making sure everyone stays safe the children don’t get out of control. It is therefor important that we have expert performers and field workers such as Chic and Martin, to bring fun and wonder to some of the most abandoned children in the world.
